Jingle Bells, originally titled “Dashing through the snow” is a popular Christmastime song that actually was written for the American Thanksgiving. James Lord Pierpont copyrighted the original in 1857, however the modern version differs from the original particularly in the chorus. Jingle Bells was the first song to be broadcast from space when it was played by the crew of the Gemini VI spacecraft in 1965.
I have done two TTBB versions of the arrangement, the one which follows the original in the verses and uses the modern chorus and the other which has the first verse, a second verse of my own wording, and then a repeat of the first verse. The original version of 4 verses takes about 3 minutes to sing at the suggested tempo. The other version takes about 2 minutes 30 seconds.
My verse is:
The men who sing this song, are wishing now for you,
Joy this Christmastide, and for the New Year too.
May you feel the love, of family and friends,
and may this world know peace on Earth today and without end.
All of the various downloads can be found at this link location (Google Drive). In both versions the MIDI and MP3 files are using the Grand Piano voice for all parts.
Below are the PDF files (which are also at the link above) hosted on this page:
Mayo Male Voice Choir version (3 verses)
Original verses version (4 verses)
PDF files with easier chorus piano accompaniment, other wise no difference in the voices.
The words of the MMVC version are shown below in full, including the intro and ending for the Tenor 1 part

Jingle. Jingle, Jingle bells, jingle bells. Here we go.
Verse 1
Dashing thro’ the snow, in a one horse open sleigh,
o’er the hills we go, laughing all the way;
Bells on bob tail ring, making spirits bright,
Oh what sport to ride and sing a sleighing song to-night.
Chorus
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way.
Oh what fun it is to ride in a one horse o-pen sleigh O
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way.
Oh what fun it is to ride in a one horse o-pen sleigh.
Verse 2
The men who sing this song, are wishing now for you,
Joy this Christ-mas-tide, and for the New Year too.
May you feel the love, of family and friends,
and may this world know peace on Earth to-day and with-out end.

Repeat of verse 1
Chorus
Ending

You may copy the PDFs and other files of the arrangement freely for non commercial purposes provided attribution is made and the work is licensed under the same Creative Commons license. The original melody was written in 1857 by James Lord Pierpont (1822–1893) as is assumed to be out of copyright as more then 70 years have passed since the death of the author. If there is an issue in this respect please let me know and I will take this down.
I tried to download the TTBB arrangement of Jngles bells but it is not available.
is there a way of obtaining
Thanks
Hi Neil. Sorry, this actually was a casualty of the recent changes in Dropbox where the files were hosted. I have loaded the PDF files onto this page and there is also a link to my Google Drive where you can find MP3. Midi and Music XML files.
