Jingle Bells TTBB

Jingle Bells, originally titled “Dashing through the snow” is a popular Christmastime song that actually was written for the American Thanksgiving. James Lord Pierpont copyrighted the original in 1857, however the modern version differs from the original particularly in the chorus. Jingle Bells was the first song to be broadcast from space when it was played by the crew of the Gemini VI spacecraft in 1965.

I have done two TTBB versions of the arrangement, the one which follows the original in the verses and uses the modern chorus and the other which has the first verse, a second verse of my own wording, and then a repeat of the first verse. The original version of 4 verses takes about 3 minutes to sing at the suggested tempo. The other version takes about 2 minutes 30 seconds.

My verse is:

Joy this Christmastide, and for the New Year too.
May you feel the love, of family and friends,
and may this world know peace on Earth today and without end.

The original melody was written in 1857 by James Lord Pierpont (1822–1893) as is assumed to be out of copyright as more then 70 years have passed since the death of the author.
